JITC Quiz Night - 18 July 2009
After a sunny week of Club tennis, JITC members were happy to meet up again at Toni and Mike Trainors’ one Saturday evening and take part in a successful quiz night. Attendees contributed a selection of tasty dishes to create a vast buffet. Mike was as ever an impeccable host, dispensing lots of his special sangria, while Toni had laboured most of the day to produce some spectacular desserts.
Noelle, social secretary, had allocated the teams of four players and given them team names. Most importantly, Peter and Iris Henham did a remarkable job of compiling oodles of tricky quiz questions and marking every answer sheet.
After falling behind in the first round, team “Cutting Edge” came back with a vengeance, shrugging off the challenges from the other competitors to claim victory and carry off the spoils. Pictured are the winning team of Janis, Mike, Michelle and Andrew. A worthy booby prize was won in style by the “Golden Girls”, Dorothy, Joan, Netty and Hazel.

Annual Car Treasure Hunt - 23 April 2009
Club stalwarts Sheila and Ivan Segal have yet again created an entertaining and thought provoking treasure hunt for members of JITC. They even managed to conjure up the warmest day of the year so far in which to participate in a fun day away from the tennis courts. Their clues were challenging as always, and the route had been well thought out to take us further afield than before.
Of course the element of competition was ever present, and at the finishing post in the delightful pueblecito of Forna, Ivan was pleased to present prizes to the deserved winners. Having completed the most correct answers, and collected the necessary “treasures”, the winners were announced as the team of Hazel, Netty, Noelle and John.
Coming in at a close fought second were Christine and John, and Ted and Penny. In third place were Elaine and Alan, and Paul and Betty. Much applause greeted the victors, and also Ted’s presentation of gifts to Sheila and Ivan in appreciation of their hard work. Replete with menu del dia, the treasure seekers were in no hurry to leave such charming surroundings, and the volume of friendly banter seemed to increase as the afternoon wore on to it’s reluctant end!
